I'm back from California and JavaOne. It was a great trip. The five days of technical sessions contained an amazing amount of much information; I learned a lot. And here I am with the Duke (I didn't know Java even had a mascot before the conference):

Given how much was new to me, I'm realizing that a single yearly trip just isn't enough to keep current. I don't get exposed to enough new tools and technologies at work either. To stay current, I'm going to have to subscribe to some feeds and other sources and experiment with new tools technologies and throughout the year.
